The iKamand can send mobile push and text notifications while cooking. You can even receive notifications through the iKamand Website if you enable notifications from the browser.
Make sure your phone is not in Do Not Disturb mode, so that you get alerts and notifications. You can enable notifications in the iKamand app by navigating to Profile > Settings. You can also check your phone's Settings to make sure the push notifications are enabled on the app.
Here's a list of the notifications you will get if you enable them on your phone:
Food is Ready - when your food is within one degree or above your target food temperature
Grill Temperature is Dropping - when your grill temperatures drops significantly below the target temperature. This notification will repeat periodically.
Grill is Overheating - when your grill temperatures is significantly higher than your target temperature for a significant period of time. This notification will repeat periodically. If you change your pit temp to be much lower than the grill's current temperature, you may get this notification and can ignore it.
You will receive the text notifications as push notifications.
Lid Open - Fan Paused
If you open the lid during Low N Slow mode, the temperature on your pit probe will drop suddenly. Your iKamand may go into 'Lid Open' where the fan stops running until the temperature stabilizes to prevent overshoot.
If you want to override Lid Open mode, you can press the banner in the iKamand app and resume the fan, otherwise wait and your iKamand will start regulating temperature soon.
Food Almost Ready
When your food is 5 degrees away from the target temperature, you'll get a notification.
When your grill reaches the target temperature, you'll get a notification.
During Low N Slow mode, If your probe is unplugged, you'll get a notification. After plugging in your probe, it can take up to 40 seconds for a temperature reading. Wait for at least a minute if you're getting the notification but your probe is plugged in.
During Low N Slow and Fire It Up mode, if your probe is partially unplugged, there's water in the probe, or some other short, you'll get a notification. Remove your probe, make sure the jack is completely dry and plug your probe in firmly.
After plugging in your probe, it can take up to 40 seconds for a temperature reading. Wait for at least a minute if you're getting the notification but your probe is plugged in.
Fire It Up Mode Complete
When Fire It Up mode is complete, you'll get a notification.
If your iKamand disconnects and it's on firmware version 1.0.40 or lower, you'll get a notification. Your ikamand will continue to maintain your set temperature even if it disconnects from the internet. Update your iKamand to the latest firmware to stop getting the notification.
When your iKamand update is complete, you'll get a notification.
If your iKamand update fails, you'll get a notification. Restart your iKamand and try and update again. Make sure your iKamand has good connection to the internet.
If your iKamand is transferred to a different account, you'll get a notification.
