Use this guide to troubleshoot the iKamand device and app if you are trying to end your Grill/BBQ mode and are unable to.

My iKamand device keeps running even though I tried to end my grill or BBQ:

  • Make sure you've pressed "Stop iKamand" on the app in order to stop the fan from running.
  • Try unplugging your device and plug it in again. Your iKamand should stop running after it is plugged in again.
  • Make sure your iKamand isn't in "Manual Stoke" Mode. You can take it out of manual stoke mode by pressing the button on the side of the iKamand.
  • Make sure your iKamand is connected to the internet. The BBQ and Grill mode won't stop until the iKamand confirms it got the stop message.
  • If your iKamand continues to run in grill or BBQ mode, you can reset it by connecting it to a new user account:
    • Put it into Connect Mode by holding the button on your iKamand for 8 seconds then releasing.
    • Log out and create a new account on your iKamand app.
    • Add your iKamand device to the new account.
    • The grill and cook mode should end.
    • After doing this you will have to re-connect to your old account.

If the problem persists, leave your iKamand turned off for 12 hours and make sure it doesn't have any water damage. After 12 hours, if you still can't use your iKamand, contact customer service.

My iKamand app shows that I'm cooking even though I tried to end my grill or BBQ

Your iKamand app won't stop a cook or grill until the iKamand device responds. This is to prevent you from mistakenly thinking that the iKamand device has stopped running.

If you've pressed stop on the iKamand app, but it doesn't update:

  • Make sure that your iKamand is turned on and try pressing stop on the app again.
  • Go to the homepage of the iKamand app and pull down to refresh.
  • Close the app completely and reopen it to show the latest status of the app.
  • Try unplugging your device and plug it in again.
  • Make sure your iKamand is connected to the internet. The BBQ and Grill mode won't stop until the iKamand confirms it got the stop message.
  • If your iKamand continues to run in grill or BBQ mode on your app, you can reset it by connecting to a new user account:
    • Put it into Connect Mode by holding the button on your iKamand for 8 seconds then releasing.
    • Log out and create a new account on your iKamand app.
    • Add your iKamand device to the new account.
    • The grill and cook mode should end.
    • After doing this you will have to re-connect to your old account.

If the problem persists, contact customer service at Kamado Joe and they will be able to end your cook.
