The iKamand is a WiFI Grill controller. Your iKamand must be connected to WiFi to use it.

Once you connect your iKamand to WiFi, you won't need to connect again.

Getting the iKamand App

  1. Download the iKamand app from the App Store or Google Play Store. If you downloaded the Android app before June 5th 2018, leave the beta program and download the iKamand app again.
  2. Create an account on the iKamand app.

  3. Connect your iKamand to your account. If you don't connect immediately, you can connect later by clicking the Connect Now button or adding a device from the Devices pageNavigate to Devices (Kamado icon in the top right of Cook tab)

  4. If you have an iKamand linked to your account and want to change its WiFi settings, go to the Devices page.

Connecting to the iKamand

Before Connecting

  • Get the name and password of your WiFi. Make sure it's a visible single band 2.4 Ghz network.
  • If your iKamand is on version 1.0.48 or less and you bought it before February 2019:Make sure that the SSID (network name) and password of your WiFi network are both 20 characters or less.
    • Best Practises: If you have a 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz netowrk with the same name, deselect the 5 Ghz WiFi in your router settings or rename the 2.4 Ghz network or use your guest WiFi if you have one.
  • Make sure you have the correct case for your WiFi name and password i.e. NETGEAR44 not netgear44
  • Use a simple password with the iKamand
    • 8-20 characters long
    • Don't use special characters or spaces i.e. *!?#$%^&()@!
  • Some phones such as a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will not allow you to connect to the iKamand WiFi. You may need to turn off your mobile data so that it your internet connection doesn't default to mobile data. Try setting up your iKamand on another phone, then continue using your own phone.
